On paper: A poem I wrote just now

Sometimes
I think
that I might be
a little bit
(just a little bit)
crazy.
Crazy,
like a ritual
that nobody
understands anymore.
A dead tradition
that carries on
to haunt
the living
with its
utter
oddity.
Everyone
passes it off
as myth
or legend
which makes them
feel
a little
(just a little)
better.
But those who know
the truth
of it
shy away
from the lies
that keep others
sane.
They pack up
bits
of themselves
into nicely
organized
boxes
designated
for this purpose
and they wait
and wait
wait
for someone
to unpack them.

  6. Oh, I LOVED this! Loved the image at the end of the nice, organized boxes waiting to be unpacked...and the message behind the words. Really lovely writing. I'm stopping by from the WOE weekend linkup and I'm so glad I did.

  8. Great poem! I like the formatting, too. I am lousy at poetry (and not much better at writing fiction, lol) and I have a ton of respect for people who attempt it and do it well.

I found your blog through the WOE linkup as well. Always happy to meet another aspiring YA novelist....which reminds me I really should be working on my story now! :)
